Back in 1997, Mikey and I were just getting Execution Records off the ground, and one of the very first tracks we put out was Attention, a collaboration with Jen‑E from Brisbane. It was built around a sampled Ice‑T vocal and became a real staple of the label’s early sound.
Nearly 30 years later, I’m stoked to bring it back with Attention – The Remixes.
This EP is a full-circle moment for me. I’ve done a brand new Spellbound Remix, updating the original with a heavier, more modern edge while keeping that raw energy that made it special in the first place. Alongside that, I’ve brought in Void DJ, another artist from Brisbane, to put his own stamp on the track — a nice link back to where Jen‑E got her start all those years ago. And to round things out, I’ve also remastered the original 1997 version so it can finally sound the way it deserves to on today’s sound systems.
